Natural materials, and spot on proportions are the name of the game on this bug. There is one substitution that is worth mentioning, but besides that one you should try to stick with the original recipe as much a possible. This bug is so realistic, so we don’t want to change much about it.

Body: Turkey Biots in Olive will get the job done if you cant’t get your hands on the Goose Biots.

This pattern is best tied in the original color, but don’t be afraid to change up some of the colors for the caddis in your specific area. As is will be the most effective version of this fly on those big, picky fish in delicate water. Having a large, wary fish come up to eat this bug will make your day, guaranteed. We highly recommend it!

This fly is all natural, and proud of it. The use of all natural materials gives this bug an extremely believable look to the fish when it’s floating down flat water, where the fish has plenty of time to check it out. Put a good drift on this bug in some soft water, and hang on tight. Delicacy, and presentation complete this fly. Without those two things, the fly won’t do it’s job to it’s full potential.

Fishing this fly alone is the best way to ensure that you’re doing everything you can to present it correctly. A soft landing, and drag free drift will often result in a the undivided attention of a fish when the caddis are active. It’s a hard pass for a trout when the fly actually looks like the real thing!
