Tying Recipe
  • Hook: Straight shank streamer hook
  • Body 1: Zonker color 1
  • Eyes: Dumbbell eyes
  • Body 2: Zonker color 2
  • Use any color zonkers you wish.
  • Use any eyes you like.
  • Add some flash off the rear of the hook.
  • Olive and white works well, so does orange/olive. Use your imagination for color combos!

This super simple streamer uses 2 zonker strips to create fantastic movement. The eyes on the top of the hook shank flip the fly to ride hook point up wile creating a jigging movement. Tie this fly in every color you can imagine to imitate different baitfish in your fishery. This fly is a great introduction to working with zonker strips.

Take advantage of the heavy eyes and hook point up profile of this fly and get it near or on the bottom. Fish this fly deep through runs for trout or pound structure while bass or trout fishing. It works as a great searching pattern when you’re not sure what trout will be eating. If you want to throw some streamers this is a great one to start with.
