Tying Recipe
  • Hook: Straight shank wide gap
  • Eyes: Pseudo eyes
  • Tail: Color 1 and 2 craft fur
  • Flash: Krystal flash
  • Body: UV polar chenille
  • Head: Senyo laser dub color 1 and 2
  • Use any hook you like
  • Any dumbbell eyes will work
  • Any flash you have will work
  • Use any dubbing you like, you can even use craft fur or pseudo hair
  • Tie with more weight to get it deeper
  • Add some more flash if needed

This fly rides hook point up because of the dumbbell eyes tied on the top of the hook shank. Tie these in any color you have. White and olive also works great. The dubbing head pushes water while the tail creates movement. The dumbbell eyes create a cool jigging motion allowing you to bump the bottom with the fly.

Cast near structure and get this fly deep. Use a sink tip line with this fly to get it to the right depth. Use some short quick strips to try to entice strikes but if the fish are lazy you may need some slow long strips. If you are fishing them deep in current slow down your retrieve a little. If this fly isn’t working you need adjust your retrieve before changing flies.
Bass are ambush predators, the key to catching them with a fly is keeping the fly near structure or cover.
