Tying Recipe
  • Hook: Long shank streamer
  • Tail: Rabbit zonker
  • Body: Rust dubbing
  • Casing: Brown medallion sheet
  • Collar: Crosscut rabbit zonker
  • Legs: Speckled crazy legs

  • Use whatever hook you like
  • You can use any dubbing you want but use a nymph dubbing
  • Brown thin skin can be used if you don’t have medallion sheet
  • Use any rubber legs you have
  • Add .025 non-toxic wire wrap most of the shank to help get this thing deeper

This fly doesn’t look like anything specifically but imitates a wide variety of carp food. Carp are bottom feeders and dig up little critters out of the mud and stuff on the bottom. This little streamer imitates just about anything. The use of zonker and dubbing create a buggy profile and movement while the rubber legs really draw them in.

Cast this bug near cruising or tailing carp. This is one of the only carp flies I would tell you to strip a little. Carp don’t chase bait so you can’t move it fast but move it just enough to get their attention. You should see them turn or tail on top of your fly. Remember to strip set!
