Tying Recipe
  • Hook: Straight Shank, Down Eye Dry Fly Hook
  • Body: Rabbit Fur
  • Wing:  Bleached Elk Hair
  • Body: Hares Ear Dubbing

Changing the color of the dubbing is a great way to make different variations of this fly.

The primary benefit of this fly is the rabbit body design and the way it holds floatants and dusting material to float well. Much like CDC feathers, dusters works very well on materials it can grab onto and trap air around. It makes the fly float well and imitate insects well.

Great fishing tips were given on this pattern in the video, but we can reiterate them here.  Make sure to use floatant and dust your fly with frogs fanny often to help it float well and just above the surface.  Throwing 2 of these flies is better than one and I like to do a size 14 and 18 or a two size difference helps get all the fish up in the river.
