  • Tail: Orange McFlylon
  • Rear Eyes: Large EP shrimp eyes
  • Legs: Crazy legs
  • Antenna: Black krystal flash
  • Body: Clear EP shrimp dub brush
  • Weed Guard: 15# mono
  • Use any saltwater hook you want, match it to the species you’re targeting
  • Any dumbbell eyes will work
  • You can make your own shrimp eyes with mono
  • Use any legs you want, you can use black legs for the antenna
  • You can use orange dubbing or EP if you don’t have the mcfly foam
  • Tie larger or smaller to match the shrimp near you
  • Tan and clear are the most popular colors
  • Tie in more or less weight to match water depth

This is my favorite bonefish pattern. Use this fly anywhere fish eat shrimp. This fly has great action thanks to the dumbbell eyes on the top of the hook shank which keeps the hook point up. The “clear” EP looks amazing in the water. It adds depth to the fly and allows you to see the interior color of the fly. Add rubber legs for movement and youve got the recipe for the perfect shrimp pattern. Tie different colors to match your shrimp.

One of the coolest days of bonefishing I’ve has been chasing flamingos around the flats. If flamingos are there you better believe shrimp are there too. Anywhere there are shrimp cast this fly and let it sink to the bottom. Fish it with short quick strips with long pauses along the bottom. Think of how a shrimp flees, swimming backwards, thats the look you are trying to imitate with this fly.
