The Best Anglers Never Stop Learning
Tying Video
This pattern is a great clash of the RS2 and the jujubaetis patterns. Both are super effective on their own, but mixed together into this fly it really catches fish like no other. This bug also has some substitution options, which is always a nice sight.
Tail: Brown Microfibbets will get the job done nicely on the tail of this fly.
Body: Slinky Fiber in similar colors is the next best choice for the body on this fly.
The best color combinations in our opinion are tan and black, purple and black, chartreuse and black, white and black, and olive and black. If you have a few or all of those in your box in a few sizes of each you’ll be set on the mayfly emerger spread for a while.
The Juju Emerger is the perfect pattern for imitating an actively emerging mayfly. The CDC will trap a bit of air and help the pattern suspend or rise to the top of the water column. Along with that, the super hair gives this bug great segmentation, which pairs well with the movement that the hen saddle legs provide and this fly travels through the water. Even though it is slightly difficult during the tying process, you should be perfecting it and keeping these bugs in your box at all times.
Fish move up and down in the water column when they’re keying in on emerging bugs to try and grab them at their most vulnerable state. This pattern is designed to entice those fish as they feed. Fishing this fly behind a dry fly of the same species you are trying to imitate is a deadly combonation. Let this bug swing at the end of your drift for some awesome eats.
